How well do we know the 4-Way Test? That was the question as we were all asked to stand, turn around to face the back of the room, and recite it from memory. Good Job Members!
Announcements and Such:
| Jim Sullivan told us that a Past President of our club from many years ago, (1977-1978) Norman Aye, passed away suddenly last week. |
![]() |
| Ginny Pitts announced lots of upcoming social events for our club which were listed and available on all the tables. The nest will be July 15th with drinks and complimentary hors d'oeuvres from 5:30 - 6:30 at John Ash. Come early and bring your spouse. |
Recognitions
| Janet Codding and Chris Parr were recognized for 21 years in Rotary with perfect attendance. They generously gave the club $21 each. (You could light a city with the energy that these two have! J -Ed) |
![]() |
| Jim Benoit was recognized for his involvement in an Interdisciplinary group where he is a director of education and training. He generously gave the club $45. |

Henry Von der Mehden was the proud father of the bride at the Kendal Jackson Vineyard facility where his daughter was recently married. After all that expense he still had $25 to give the club.
Gil Lucas was recognized for his 35th wedding anniversary and birthday of his grand-daughter and paid a $25 fine.
Raffle
Once again John Withers had the winning ticket for the raffle, but got the blue marbel, not the black one. And Past District Governor Mike Merrill won a Double Gold/Best of Class 2004 Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon from Windsor Vineyards, one of the very last of these highly awarded wines that carry the label of our now Past President Fred Zmarzly.
Program: Visions of 2008-09
Instead of a formal program with a guest speaker, President David asked some of his Board Members to share with the membership what their responsibilities are in their positions as Avenue of Service Directors, Committee Chairs and Board Members, and what they have planned to accomplish. President David also shared the vision that he wishes to achieve during his Rotary year of 2008-2009.
Pam Davis is our Director of International Service, which will continue with projects already in the works as well as new ideas that arise.

Chuck Baker is our Director of Vocational Service and said he has the easiest job because of his many helpers who will be continuing with their projects. Bob Zeni with academic scholarships, Carson Mitchell with Project Civilization (formerly known as the speech contest), Gail Johnson with Roseland University Prep, and Ken Dansie with Ridgeway vocational scholarships.
Doug Angelo is our Director of Community Service projects as in the Bell Ringing for the Salvation Army, Dictionary program for 3rd graders, and he wants to work closely with Tarina looking for possible new assistance with Rebuilding Together.

Gail Johnson & Diane Winsby are our Membership Committee co Chairs. They told about President David’s new member goal of 12 new members coming into our club this year. We should all be able to do a 1 minute sell about Rotary. We need to grow our club and look for ways to bring more business people from our community into Rotary. A special program contest will be coming up next month.
Ginny Pitts is our Fellowship Chair and has great plans for social events with our club members and passed out papers detailing fun get-togethers for the next couple of months. There will be lots of cocktail hours, firesides and other social gatherings to attend.

Tarina Hall is a Special Advisor to the board this year and she is looking for good news from members about "Sunshine" people. She pointed out Von who is now neck-brace free, and then Gary Lucas who has gained a neck-brace.
| Gary Lucas is our new Sergeant at Arms and was sporting a vest with those words written on the back. Despite his neck brace from spinal surgery he says he is doing well and only in need of over the counter pain killers. His surgery involved removal of bone spurs and bone grafts, ouch! |

There were other Board Members, Directors, and Committee Chairs that we did not hear from either becausethey were not present for this meeting, or because time just didn’t permit during this meeting. These Board Members are: Secretary Janet Codding, Communications Chair Jim Valinoti, Club Service Director Dale Sipe and his Co-Chair Matt Delaney, and Foundation Chair Harry Rubins. Possibly we might hear from these members with their thoughts and the goals that they are looking to achieve during this Rotary year.
President David told us about Bragging Bucks, where we will all be given the opportunity to tell something fun that recently happened to us and only pay a buck. Mike Merrill told about his 20th wedding anniversary. Gil Lucas told about flying with Joe Perez to Las Vegas, New Mexico, Dallas, Louisanna, and Pennsylvania, dodging thunderstorms to deliver 2 airplanes. Joe was not there today, but he'll probably have to pay more than a buck for that adventure.
A Lexus was almost given away until Gail realized she'd lost her keys and David found them.
David ended the meeting with an offer to give away 8 tickets to the Sonoma County Fair Races..........for free! See David for details.
