| The pledge was led by Ginny Pitts. |
Rotary moment was by Bill Dodson. He asked for a moment of silence in remembrance of Jack Levar of the Santa Rosa Rotary club. Jack passed away on December 12th. We were reminded of how Jack sold so many of our crab tickets and graced our meeting many times over the years with great humor and comradeship. Donations were taken for the Jack Levar Memorial Scholarship Fund. Services will be held on Sunday, December 23rd at 1:30 pm at the Friedman Center, 4676 Mayette Ave., Santa Rosa. Wednesday, December 19th, all Rotarians are invited to the Santa Rosa Rotary club at the Flamingo Hotel. Guy Fieri will be the speaker of the day honoring Jack Levar.

Announcements and Such:
We will be dark for the next two weeks: Dec. 24 for Christmas and Dec. 31 for New Year’s Eve. Happy Holidays to all!
Many thanks to the Salvation Army Bell Ringers. Chris Young doesn’t have the figures, but the kettle was heavy. If you haven’t done this before, it is a lot of fun. Just an hour of your time with another Rotarian is perfect for getting to know each other better.
Sunshine report: Ruth Lincoln had neck and back surgery. She is doing fine resting at her home in Lakeport. Please send cards to: 2652 Hill road East 26, Lakeport, CA 95453. Ruth is on leave of absence from the club until February, or when her doctor says she can return.
| Ken Dansie read a letter from Veronica Lopez, Ridgeway High School, thanking us for our support. |
![]() |
| Birthdays and Anniversaries: Ken Kushnir will be 60 years old on December 20. | |
| Barbara Larson celebrates 4 years in Rotary. |
Crab Feed: Jim Hinton had CRAB Feed fliers to hand out. He is asking that each member of our club sell 10 tickets each. That would give us 600 people in attendance. Bill Dodson announced that there will not be any meat lasagna but veggie lasagna instead.
The Board decided to choose the Roseland University Prep Library Project to support as its big "cash" donation from the Crab Feed. The projects committee will determine if we can have two of these "cash" donations, or if one will be fine.
Recognition
| FINE Time by Mike Moore: Ah…..the great Mike Moore, Impressario Fine Master went out into the audience and asked Ken Kushnir where he has been and what he has been doing. Ken replied that he has been in Mexico and that he was undergoing electro-shock treatments to get us out of his mind. Hmmmmm? I think we should brain-wash him. How can he think he could get us out of his mind? No way! |

After 35 years of having a hairy upper lip, Chuck Stark with the advice of his family, shaved his mustache off. Yes, he does have an upper lip and yes, he looks younger and more kissable. Great for WinAnn!
Jim Sullivan, Pete Lamonica, Chuck Olson and Phil Talmantes went to Hilo to play golf. It rained the entire week and they played Texas "hold em" for entertainment. "Rain, rain, go away, little boys do like to play…..golf."
Raffle
| Boo hoo, Jim Sullivan didn’t pull the black marble. John Withers won the bottle of wine. Hmmmmm? How many is that so far? |

Program: Santa Rosa 20-30 years from now
Will Richards introduced our speaker for the day:
| Michael S. Frank, Assistant City Manager |
![]() |
| Topic: Santa Rosa….20 to 30 years from now. Invision-ing the Future. | |
| Vision – Action - Commitment | |
| Santa Rosa is the 5th largest city between San Francisco and Portland, Oregon. What the city wants to do is create a broad, long range framework of possibilities. |
- Environmental Sustainability
- Affordable housing
- Economic Development
- Financial Growth
- Community Engagement
- Create a vital and vibrant downtown
- Have thriving, diverse, healthy & safe neighborhoods
- Expand breathtaking stretches of open space
- Have appealing transportation initiatives
- Build a more conclusive environment
The time is right, but this vision can’t become a reality, or set by city government, it needs to be owned by its citizens.
