Recognition:

Gail Johnson Gail Johnson was on her feet again, this time to be recognized for her travels to Kansas City to visit her daughter. She also shared with us that she would be off again - to Florida?

That trip will just have to be addressed separately when she returns. Right now? $10.

Don Ling Don Ling was visited by President Louie for his anticipated trip to Florida, where he will be joining...PDG John Withers? Boy he should be receiving some sort of compassionate compensation for that!!!! They will both be leaving Florida and heading for Brazil next. And you thought that country already had problems? Ha! $10, Don. But when you return, John, you’re next! We’ll all be ready for another, in the long line of The Famous Withers Chronicles!

Chuck Olson Chuck Olson had a birthday. Unfortunately he didn’t spend it with us, so President Louie took this opportunity to remind him with a $10 recognition fee.

John Meislahn was anointed for his 37th birthday and claimed to be the youngest member of the club...GONG! Nope! That honor is still held by Ron Allen (9-1-70).

Past President Brian Herndon Past President Mike Moore
Past President Brian Herndon (’01-’02) and Past President Mike Moore (’02-‘03 were each fined $5 for going to Hawaii. Brian was fined an additional for his anniversary. Boy if that was all the anniversary cost him, he got off cheap - not likely though!

Raffle:

Ken Dansie
Ken Dansie, self-professed socialist, who earlier proclaimed that he knew why we couldn’t balance our budgets in this country, had his ticket drawn for the raffle. As he approached the podium to draw for the black marble that would make him $300 richer he was reminded that were this a socialist country he would be sharing that win with all of us. No cigar on the marble draw. Fittingly, it was yellow.

Jim Sullivan had the winning ticket that netted him a bottle of some unknown label of chardonnay. Jim Sullivan

Program:

Jim Wieschendorf Brian Herndon introduced our guest speakers, Marty Rosales and Jim Wieschendorf.

Jim did the honors of presenting a program on the Community Smart Program, a bonus Rewards program that provides a link between non-profits and merchants in our area.

Jim explained that if you obtain a Community Smart Card and use it at participating merchants in the area, those dollars are paid out to the nonprofits that you pre-select to receive the funds. It could be a possible tax write off, however, as always, it’s best to check with your accountant/CPA, - even if he is a socialist J. Catch a more complete story on this great new program in an article from The Northbay Business Journal.
