Salute: Led by Joe
Perez and our
.
Rotary Moment
Was given - by our President? Whats going on? Where is everybody? Must
be the weather? June is busting out all over and is playing havoc with
everybodys allergies.
 |
Our greeter, the fabulous Bob Marigo, introduced
our guests. A visitor from afar, former member Ed Burr was
introduced. Sorry, I didnt catch everyones name, but this is what
happens when you have unscheduled volunteers doing the Bulletin. |
 |
| Thanks to Bob Zeni for handling the cash! |

Announcements
Janet Codding, the only member of our club to attend the
Association Dinner last Thursday evening announced The Santa Rosa Junior
College Foundation Ag Trust Event this weekend, June 7 at Richards Grove &
Saralees Vineyard located at 3575 Slusser Rd., Windsor. This is a benefit
for the Warren G. Dutton Jr. AG Pavillion. Also, the next Association Dinner
will be on July 31st at Dutton Ranch. This is a fun one and a great place to
visit.

President Mike expressed his and the clubs
appreciative thank you to Ginny Pitts for hosting our best
attended Crab Feed Appreciation Party ever. We had about 85 members
and their mates in attendance. Ginny congratulated us for only
drinking 6 gallons of margaritas and numerous bottles of wine. Dont
you just love catered affairs? Thank you Pete Lamonica for the
suggestion. Why didnt you show up? And yes, you have great looking
legs. Must be the tennis? Anyway, lets do this again real soon. Thank
you, Ginny, you are the hostess with the mostess. Its always a
pleasure to attend a party at Harvest Moon Vineyards. And many thanks
to Randy Pitts who handed out bottles of his wonderful zinfandel as
party favors. Wow and yum! What a class act Ginny, Randy and Bob
Pitts!!! |
| Dueling Desktops? |
 |
| No, actually those are laptops of course. You really
want to know what this is? Its probably the only time you will see two
rotary secretaries joined at the hip. Janet Codding (Former
Secretary extraordinaire from The Rotary Club of Windsor) and Sitting
Secretary (literally) of The Rotary Club of Santa Rosa West, Fred
Zmarzly. Janet, of course, has graciously volunteered to take over
the duties of Club Secretary for the upcoming Year of Louis The First.
Whats going on, is a transference of information....Janet with her
light speed Planet Janet modem and Fred with his 16bps (on a good day)
modem. J |
Fine Times
 |
Only one fine today and what a doozy! Doug Dilley!!!
What were you doing? Riding around in a 1958 Porsche, without a care in
the world, on your way the Feed Party at Harvest Moon Ranch, only to
have it break down just one block from Ginnys driveway. Not knowing
where you were, you climbed a knoll in order to call for help, from a
friend in Cloverdale????? Doug!!!! You could have walked to Ginnys. You
were looking at her back yard while you were on the knoll. Sorry you
missed the Crab Feed Appreciation Party, and we hope that the next time
you venture out, you will have better luck. $50 Thank You. |
Craft Talk
| Dennis Kelley grew up in Sacramento. He is a
graduate of economics of UC Davis. He became a CPA with Touche Ross in
Sacramento. Met his wonderful wife, Clare, and decided to look for a
smaller community in which to raise a family. He joined National Bank of
the Redwoods as the CFO. After 13 years there, he joined Bank of
Petaluma as the CFO. In 2001 he joined AG Edwards as an Investment
Broker. He enjoys bringing his investment knowledge together with
serving people in helping them obtain their financial goals. He and
Clare have four children, all born in Santa Rosa. |

Jack Bill says he was tutored by President Mike
to be funny but tell the truth. If that doesnt work, embellish.
Jack has been married so many times that all of his married years still
dont add up enough to compete with Dale Sipe and John Withers,
which is a good thing Jack, otherwise you would have been married for
over a hundred years!!!! |
Jack wanted to thank Paul Stychno for introducing him to the
Rotary Club of Santa Rosa West; Janet Codding for having fun
membership meetings (it was fun seeing her mirrored water bed); Bill
Dodson for helping him to learn the cashier process for the lunches, and
to Bill Water Boy Fisher for standing up with him as a new member
and giving him his red badge. Jack was born in Pittsburg, PA and
attended/graduated from LaSalle University. He has a son named John who
lives with his wife, Nancy, and daughter in Kentucky. His proudest
educational achievement was when he received his CPCU designation.
Congratulations to both of you for your fun and informative craft talks
and your dedication to earning your blue badges.
Gifts of Money
Chris Rosell, Chairman of the Money giving Committee. Is there a
formal title for this committee? (Yes, it is the Projects Committee
Ed J) was ready with checks in hand
to give to the following recipients:
 |
Karen Arter of Bloomfield School reported that the $800
gift will be used for the Literacy Program that benefits children from
South Park. |
 |
Peggy Mulhall from Luther Burbank Center of the
Arts will use $1,000 gift to expand their school shows and school visits
by artists and their workshops. |
 |
Aimee Goodwin from Mountain Shadows School was awarded
$$ that would be used for field trips. She also mentioned that the
school has earned the coveted award of being named a Calif.
Distinguished School. Only two schools in the state are given this
distinction. Congratulations! |
 |
Michelle Head representing the YMCA received
$3,000 for a chairlift for the warm water pool. This allows many people
with disabilities an easier time in physical therapy. |
It is so nice to see how our funds from the CRAB FEED are being spent.
All are such worthy causes and I know that Chris and his committee had a
difficult time determining who should get what and how much. Thank you to
all of you serving.
We ran out of time for fun and games, but President Mike announced that
Linda Kittler would be introduced next week as our newest member. We
want to do a proper job. Welcome, Linda!
Raffle
Nobody won a chance to win half of the cash pot. How did that happen?
Hmmmm? Lucky lady, Ms. Caroline Fox won the bottle of wine.
Speaker
| Paula Wrenn introduced our guest
speaker, Andrea M. Ponticiello, Attorney/Mediator. |
 |
Ms. Ponticiello along with the help of her friends gave us three
vignettes explaining the difference between how the law usually is
compared to how it can be with Collaborative Law. With Collaborative Law
you can maintain CONTROL, be CREATIVE and keep the COST down. Collaborative
Law facilitates all concerned parties by assisting them in the
communications process allowing them to get the big decisions done before
going to court. (I hope that I have this concept right, if not, please let
me know.) Options for going to court are litigation, mediation and
collaborative. Please call Ms. Ponticiello at (707) 541-3820. She will be
happy to enlighten you.
This is my last bulletin Im doing for President Mike. Thank you for the
opportunity to serve and thank you for your leadership and a great year!
