Gary Lucas led our pledge.

Even though it was a last minute effort, our Rotary moment was pulled off by Terri Galazzo.

Rich Pratt gave a warm welcome to our visiting Rotarians.

Chuck Stark, Paul Strychno, Neil Silverman and Terri Galazzo all had guests in attendance today-Hopefully some future members!

Sunshine Report

Susan Nowacki did (unfortunately) have a sunshine report today-Bryan Fykes was in an automobile accident and will be out of commission for a short while. Also, Blood Bank of the Redwoods is in need of blood donors especially type O and type B. John Palmer also announced that Past President and long time Rotarian, Fred Lincoln passed away last weekend.

Announcements:

President Brian talked briefly about the District Assembly that was held in Yountville last weekend. Twelve Santa Rosa West Rotarians attended. Caroline Fox helped set up and take down - Thank You, Caroline. Don’t forget the District Conference will be held May 16-May 19. There is still time to get in your reservations and to let Caroline know if you would like to sponsor the event.

President Brian also announced that Harvey Frietley was in attendance at the assembly. He was very proud of the Santa Rosa Clubs who delivered 5500 dictionaries to third graders in our area. Also at the assembly it was announced that Past President Chuck Stark will be our District Club Coordinator and PDG Mike Merrill will be our District Trainer. Congratulations!

A check was presented to Jim Underhill for $400 plus a rebate, which is enough to pay for two children to attend RYLA.

Harry Rubins announced that through Wednesday of last week our Per Capita for Paul Harris is a whopping $178.95. Something to definitely be proud of.

Ginny reminded everyone that there would be a Crab Feed Wrap Up party at her house Thursday night. Bring wine and something for the potluck.

A red badge was presented to Volodymyr Skruppka by his sponsor Paul Strychno. Bill Gittins said a few warm words about the great things Rotary does. Welcome Vladamir!!!

Recognition:

Doug Dilley was here this week and therefore fined $25 which he kindly doubled to $50.

President Brian tried to fine President Elect Mike Moore for not wearing his Rotary pin to the assembly dinner on Friday. That fine was quickly turned around to Chuck Stark as we came to find out that Chuck didn’t buy his wife a ticket for dinner or tell her that people may be dressed up and she had to drive all the way home to change. President Brian did have the last laugh though as Mike couldn’t answer his question as to how many new Rotary Presidents there will be effective 7-1-02. (Answer: 30,172)

Neil Silverman was fined for his recent trips ALL over the place but mainly for a two week retreat in Taiwan.

Janet Codding was fined for her new car. (We’ll still take your money, Janet, even if it isn’t a Lexus!)

Raffle:

The marble was drawn by Ken Prouty but alas, not black. Paul Strychno won the wine.
