So it came to pass that our very own President
Chuck called the meeting to order at 12:30 p.m., mas ou menos. |
Teri Evans did the Pledge of Allegiance.
Ken Kushnir produced a decent invocation.
| Susan Nowacki introduced the visiting
Rotarians |
 |
President Chuck called for visitors
Susan Nowacki introduced her guest, Joel Burdick, retired
stockbroker from chick-a-luma.
Sadly, as expected, it was downhill thereafter. President Chuck,
ponderously pixilating about Puxatawney, Pennsylvania, announced that no
ground hog had been sighted while he was in college there, and that winter
would continue for another six weeks. In retrospect, next week we
might expect a special program in honor of Charter day.
| With eyes glazed over, he called upon Janet
Codding, who commenced an energetic hustle for three events: |
 |
- District Conference May 17 - 20, attendance advisable.
- Hospitality suite event (Not hospital suite, Pres. Chuck.).
50 's theme - we're gonna win cuz we're numbah one. Champagne and Caviar.
- Fireside at Janet's Joint this Thursday 5:30 to 7:30 pm, floating
clipboard, FREE.
President
Chuck having forgotten his days in Pennsylvania, called upon Arnie Carston
who pitched us for XMAS in APRIL, an event scheduled for Saturday, April
28, 2001. He pointed out that we had, sua sponte, allocated $15,000.00 of
the Crab Feed proceeds to this project and need to support execution by
showing up that day prepared to work, half day or whole day, hide your
tools in the trunk. (Your writer does not understand how this works.
Perhaps it is a Pennsylvania thing.) In any event - participants needed.
