Bulletin
December 20, 1999

by Pat Sizemore

OH PIN EEN SALVO

President Patsy Barnes
President Patsy Barnes

On this date, December 20, 1999, at sometime after the stroke of high noon for those who are concerned about such matters at this time of year, Prez Pat cautiously approached the weathered cowbell and gave it three smart raps, thereby bringing order to the order.  'Course the microphones were not operating at this time and so a shouting match ensued along with general pandemonium, not to be confused with major difficulties.  (See John Withers for a military explanation.)   After the Pledge by Susan Nowacki, and a reading of Milton's "Paradise Lost" aka "Brian's Song" given by Bill Ferguson, the assemblage settled down for the meeting.  A few visiting Rotarians and guests showed up.  Always a joy.

Julie Scherer fulfilled her noteworthy promise to withdraw from her seat and deposit herself at the podium where she charged ahead while holding our interest during her principled presentation on her life, her career and her cats.

NOWNZMINTS

Bob Marigo

Hoebunchofum, so listenup!!  Bob Marigo tried to present the following announcements but quickly called upon others for assistance:

#1 We are dark the next two weeks.  Back the second Monday in January.  If you survive Ytookay, we'll see you then!

#2 Chuck Stark will get some leadership practice in after the turn of the year.

#3 See Joe Perez for further information on Ambassadorial Scholarships.

#4 We passed the hat for the waitpersons who faithfully put up with our guff each year and they received $425.00.

#5 Louie Capuano stood up and announced "No more Crab Feed Tickets", but keep after Louie in case some are not paid for or otherwise become available.

#6 Janet Codding, our "Lady in Red" had a great open house last night. Those who attended, did; those who did not, missed out.  Thanks Janet.

#7 Ron Street got his bell rung at Coddingtown much to the delight of passersby.

#8 John Withers dropped names for precisely one minute, but still spun a good yarn involving Ross Perot.

RHAPHULL

No big winners, one small one.  Next occasion will concern only 14 marbles which is significantly more than the number currently possessed by yours truly, who if he had any would not have agreed to keep writing this bulletin.

SUNSHINE REPORT

Bob Zeni reported on the conditions of Peter Hoogland and Bob Bartley.

PROEGRAHM

Robin Marrs introduced two wonderful ladies from the Ukraine, Inna Ivanovna Moroz and Yelena Anatolyevna Bobyor.  They spoke of their time spent in the United States, and the differences between the culture in which they were raised and the one in which they currently are living.  Some big differences, some, not so big.
