Evolved to Today" Greg grew up in Seymour a small town in Indiana. Greg has been in the hotel industry since 1985. His trek west started at the Fox Acres County Club in Red Feather Lakes, Colorado, then held positions at The Claremont Resort Hotel, Northridge, and the Spring Creek Golf & CC. In Ripon, CA. Greg proceeded to give golf balls for the correct answers to the following questions: When and Where Golf began: 1400 - Scotland When and Where were Rules formalized: 1700 - St Andrews. These are the same rules we violate today!! Who was the first American to win the British Amateur Open: Walter Travis in the 1800's. Bobby Jones another American who won in the 1920's won his first tournament at age 13. Eat your heart out TIGER. SRGCC was founded in 1927 on the eastside of Santa Rosa. It was moved in 1956 to its present location on 125 acres. The Course was originally designed by Jack Fleming. Renovations were made the famous Robert Trent Jones. Major renovations are in the 2nd year of a four-year project to keep the club competitive. "To compete locally, you have to think locally... 'Sonoma County's Uniqueness!!'" The goal is to make customers EXCITED, not just satisfied. A worthy challenge. Current plans for a totally new facility are on the drawing board and go up for vote by the members in May. Country club membership is attracting more families and the average age of members has changed from age 62 to age 56 in the last few years. Greg has been at SRGCC for the past two years with 425 proprietary members. Currently 20 memberships are available for resale. Give Greg a call for a personal tour of the club. He would love to share the clubs benefits and the active social calanders.
