Program: "They" Are Controlling What We See & HearOur enthusiastic speaker, Dr. Peter Phillips of Sonoma State University, gave a very informative speech concerning the censorship of our media. According to Dr. Phillips, America is the least informed most entertained society. He is a professor at Sonoma State University and has published a series of books under the title Censored 97, Censored 98 and, of course Censored 99. In the last decade the number of major media sources has consolidated to less than 11. The result of this is a lack of diversity in the media we see and read. Dr. Phillips showed us a short video that is airing on PBS regarding the sharp increase in the selling off of our military equipment. Prior to the Clinton administration we have sold or given away 3 percent of our military equipment per year. During the Clinton administration that figure jumped to 64%. The video also cited the Clinton administration as having given away several hundred brand new tanks at a cost of 1.4 million a piece. The price was right; simply for the cost of postage and handling. Thats ok, well just raise the taxes again. Bill Clintons excuse was this was done to create more jobs (so we can give more away). Dr. Phillips found this interesting since millions of military equipment jobs were cut last year. It was a informative speech full of conviction. This weeks bulletin has been brought to you buy Ron Allen. Internal Service Recognition & Reminder
