| Fines
Gary Antolini (right) was recognized for. . . "Taking a stand." When Gary explained what he was taking a stand about he was fined $10 for lobbying! Mike Moore paid $20 for moving his business from Rohnert Park to Santa Rosa. "Closer to Mac's Deli." It's easier to keep a long standing breakfast appointment than a relationship."

| Raffle Jim Sullivan got the number but failed to pick the right marble. Jim Hinton won the $20, but everyone seemed to want Patsy's grandson Josh, to be lucky two weeks running so, Jim gave it to him. Cheers, Jim! |

Program
District Attorney Mike Mullins was scheduled to speak about the Davis Trial. Since Davis' sentence had not yet been decided Mike clearly had rather a difficult task ahead of him where he couldn't comment on a result but rather had to speculate on what might happen if the jury failed to agree and they were obliged to have a re-trial to decide on the penalty. The choice of penalty being life imprisonment without the possibility of parole (this really does mean that) or death. Mike seemed to feel that the jury in this case had taken its responsibilities seriously which was causing concern in his office. In other words he hoped they'd hurry; he felt that the community needed closure.
He speculated about the value of surveys to determine people's opinions about a case about to be brought to trial. He is hoping that a change will be made in the law to ban surveys from cases where a change of venue is under consideration. We now know that the jury did make its choice and that Richard Allen Davis has been sentenced to death, thus providing our community with "closure".
Davis will eventually join over 400 other people sentenced to death, and live on "Death Row" in St. Quentin.
