2009-2010 PRESIDENT'S GOALS AND VISION

Susan Nowacki, President

The Rotary Club of Santa Rosa West will be the District club of the year.
How do we achieve this?

Review the club’s winning binder which Bill Fisher will bring for us to study. Each Avenue of Service and certain committee chairs need to write up what they will be doing in their area that will make us stand out. This needs to be completed prior to the DG’s visit which is August 10th. As the year progresses it can be refined.

Membership will increase by the end of 2009 to 74. That’s 5 new members by January 1st. And then we will add an additional 5 new members by the end of June 2010 to put our membership at 79.
How do we achieve this?

  • I would like each board member to select 4 or 5 members of the club and ask them personally to bring 3 guests to Rotary sometime during the year. Their lunch will be paid for by the club. By asking in this manner it gives more meaning to the person asked so it’s not just something the president says to sound good.
  • I would like 4 of us to attend the Chamber of Commerce event on May 14th, and although we don’t have a booth this year, Tracy, who is on the Chamber Board suggested we attend and carry helium balloons and pass out our Rotary flyers. It’s at the Wells Fargo Center from 4 to 7pm and attendance is free.
  • Diane Winsby has additional ideas which she can elaborate on.

Have more fun, great speakers and better food at our meetings.
How do we achieve this?

  • Ginny, Bill, Matt and Tarina will share their ideas.
  • I’d like to see friendship dinners at member’s houses. I’ll work with Ginny on this.

Have a great Crab Feed which will gross $115,000.
How do we achieve this?

  • Casey and his team are already making plans which he can elaborate further on.
  • Energize our members and start ticket sales and solicitation of auction items early.

Our club will have 100% participation in the Foundation.
How do we achieve this?

I would like to have a $10 day where I ask every single member to contribute $10 to the Foundation. Of course they will be encouraged to give more if they choose. But the point is, some members never give anything. So we’ll need to follow through and perhaps give a personal call or a fellow member can tell him or her that he’ll give him the $10 to put in the pot.
